Mark has a joke he’s told the kids so often, that they groan when he starts the first sentence. It goes:
A foreign hiker is up on the top of a hill, and he sees a local man and they start a conversation. “You see that dock down there,” says the Local man, “I built that all by myself For the good of the town.” The hiker raises his eyebrows, impressed.
“And you see that residential area,” continues the Local Man, “I built all of those homes for people to live in.” Speechless, the hiker is amazed.
“But do they call me the dock builder or the house builder?” says the local, “No. No, they don’t. Because you shag one sheep…”
We figured it was a good way to teach the kids accountability. There are some things in life that there's no coming back from: That's why it's a good idea not to drink and drive. To look both ways before crossing a road. To consider wisely before you accuse. It's one thing to be a bit of a jerk. It's quite another to find yourself in a situation from which you can never return. Because as brilliant as you may be, you shag one sheep….
