When I first met Mark, I told him I was a dentist. I am not a dentist. I’ve never been a dentist. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never been remotely interested in studying dentistry.
No offense to dentists, but it’s probably not much of a surprise to learn that dentistry in Scotland isn’t quite as lucrative as it is here in California. Although, a lot of things are different in Scotland: The weather. A proper understanding of how to make a decent cup of tea. Mostly though, when people go for something called a hike in Scotland, it involves an anorak, and walking shoes, and a big hill, instead of a sun hat, flip flops, and a vegan latte.
Mark is Scottish. That put me right off him from the start.
