I love a speech impediment. I find it adorable. I had a lisp when I was a kid, and I remember quite enjoying it. Me just saying the word ‘sausages’ at home used to bring the house down.
I never really understood why until in my twenties, I met a guy called Stuart from a place called Shotts in Scotland. He was a salesman selling stainless steel pots. He also had a lisp. Listening to him talk about his work was joyous.
I love the tweaks and tucks of individual’s speech. I think I always have.
Around the same time of me having a lisp, I had a friend Jennifer.
